Maybe I should ease off...
I've been re-reading the Tomes and going through the SRD and picking out bits I'd particularly like to try.
This may be having an effect on me.
Last night, I had a dream where I was seeing Frank Trollman's name on everything and I had to explain the concept and merits of scaling feats to someone.
Yeesh, why can't I dream about geology work...? That's the stuff I'm supposed to be doing...

I've had similar experiences. But the dreams involved boxes, candles and boxes. Oh and sometimes boxes too.
Yeah. Ease off the hobbying a little and your dreams will fill up with the other stuff you're doing. If only I could do the same with the boxes.

I had a signature here once but I've since lost it.

One time years ago I dreamed that the sewage plant I worked at was having severe bulking problems in the digestor, and my boss tasked me to fix it. I fixed it by writing a PrC for wastewater treatment plant operators and made everyone working there take levels in it. I then dreamed that Frank showed up to my plant to personally tell my boss that my PrC sucked ass and got me fired.

That's 100% pure awesome.Count_Arioch_the_28th wrote:One time years ago I dreamed that the sewage plant I worked at was having severe bulking problems in the digestor, and my boss tasked me to fix it. And yeah, I've had D&D dreams, Diablo II dreams, math dreams, and computer science dreams. The absolute worst are chemistry dreams. Especially organic chemistry. Organic chemistry dreams are confusing nightmares, and it doesn't help that failing that class helped to dash my hopes of biomedical engineering.

I remember taking Physics 2 in my sophomore year of college, fall semester. We were assigned so many HW problems that any free time I had went to solving them. I printed them out carried them around in my bag, and when waiting for the bus or whatever I would solve one. Anywho, I began to have dreams about the various problems we were assigned fairly early in the semester. Later in the semester I began to see the solutions in my dreams. I would do a problem, give up, go to sleep, dream about the problem for 4 hours, wake up and write down the solution so that I could get the rest of the night's rest in peace. I referred to it at the time as "if you want to be an engineer, you have to eat, sleep, dream and breath physics". Yes, I actually was able to solve problems in my sleep by the end of the semester.
In case anyone was wondering, the solutions were correct 90% of the time, and I ended up with a 110% (I scored so much higher than other people that my grade wasn't fair to factor into the curve, for instance I scored a 120/100 by getting all of the normal and bonus problems correct when the average on the test was a 60/100) in a class where an 85% is an A.
As long as we are on about dreams, it happens whenever I switch jobs that I have nightmares about my job for the first week or two. The worst so far has been daycare, which somehow ended with me falling from the top bunk and waking up flat on my back on the floor (I no longer sleep on the 'top' anything).

Shame to ruin my 1337 post count, but oh well...
When I was really in my GrimDark 40K phase, I had several dreams about it. They were pretty awesome. I enrolled with the Arbiters, and was taught how to fire a shotgun with executioner rounds.
I also dreamed that the Emperor woke up, and openly wept at the sight of what his people were doing, so rallied together some allies to go squash Chaos (so that people could stop killing each other over supposed Chaos taint) and all of the people who were manipulating the Imperium for their own gain, before educating his people about "What part of 'I am not a god' don't you understand?"
When I was unwell, I started dreaming about D&D, too. I would dream that if I increased my Con could recover more easily.
These days I dream about pharmaceutical products (phenylephrine, pseudoephidrine, ibuprofen...) and procedures.

re: Strange Dreaming.
Some years ago, during a time when I was spending quite a lot of my day playing an online text game, I found myself dreaming in text. I don't remember the content of the dream anymore, just that it was in text.

Ah you too, huhFwib wrote:Some years ago, during a time when I was spending quite a lot of my day playing an online text game, I found myself dreaming in text. I don't remember the content of the dream anymore, just that it was in text.
MUD dreams mean you've played too much!
Multicolors and everything.
StarCraft dreams are interesting, though. Especially when never seen before new units pop up and start talking w3ith yuo.
And I dreamt of a WoW-like WarCrafy about 10 years before its arrival. But then again, being just a kid, how could one so young cash in on a premonition?
It never pays to be a pioneer.
That and dreams of overabundant alcohol. That's bad too.
ach drunk drunk, drunk
The people who wrote World of Warcraft were dreaming of it ten years before its release. They were building it five years before its release.
Not much of a premonition, honestly ^-^;
Now, I have notes and college-ruled 'blueprints' of minivans, sport SUVs, several of the current crop of hotels in Vegas, and the spec they eventually used for SpaceShipOne, all circa 1980.
But what was a kid to do?

When I was eight, I dreamed about a Mario game where Mario could get a magic leaf which gave him the power to fly, a couple years before Super Mario 3.
Another dream I had involved my ex wife's boyfriend attacking me, and me subduing him with a color spray, then punching him in the gut until he started crying. Then I had to run from the cops because in my dream reality, Frank's spells that fucking kill people have all been outlawed.

So last night I dreamed that if someone wanted to be a real champion, like a knight in shining armour, they'd be best off taking levels in the RoW Knight class, with just a little dip in something particularly charismatic or whatever, perhaps a rogue or something, and that you could just give them a Smite ability...
And I haven't even been thinking about D&D that much.
